Meet the Master Craftsman

Daniel Fitzpatrick

Founder · Member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen

Daniel has spent three decades at the lathe and the bench. He apprenticed in Yorkshire, opened his first workshop in his twenties, and has worked on heritage joinery for buildings the length of the country ever since.

Traditional woodturning and cabinet making are quieter trades than they once were. The skills are slower to learn, the work harder to find. Daniel sees that as a reason to hold on to them, not a reason to let them fade.

He oversees every project personally, from a single wood-turned spindle to a full architectural commission. The first call is unhurried and free.

We have become keepers of the knowledge.

How We Work

Preserving the art of masters.

Through passion and dedication, we retain this close connection with the past.

Design — Oak & Pine by Design process

Step 1 of 3

Design

Daniel has over 25 years of experience guiding customers from concept to finished product. We transform your ideas and measurements into a design — using CAD where helpful, with material samples on request, and a site visit where appropriate. Once the written proposal is signed, production begins.

Create

Your kitchen or piece is built by our own master craftsmen at the Honley workshop. Customers are welcome to visit and see their actual piece being made — from selecting the woods to viewing the finishing. Traditional hand tools meet modern machinery where it matters most.
