Preserving the Art
Traditional wood turning is a dying trade. Daniel and the few remaining masters of the craft have become keepers of knowledge — ensuring these traditional skills are accessible for future generations to learn.

From the Yorkshire workshop, the team makes bespoke wood furniture, including handmade kitchens, intricate wood staircases, hand-turned stair spindles, four-poster beds, beer tap handles, and beautiful wood bowls and gifts.

01Step 01
Design
Daniel has over 25 years of experience supporting customers with their projects from concept and design through to a finished product. We transform collective ideas and measurements into a design.
Where necessary, CAD design is employed to facilitate the process — and we can make this available to the customer. On receipt of a detailed brief, our CAD systems can provide a real-world view of the proposed kitchen or piece of furniture. Wood and material samples can be provided on request, and where appropriate Daniel will be pleased to undertake a site visit to ensure the final piece is a perfect fit.
We provide a detailed written proposal which outlines everything discussed through to installation and likely timescales. Once the proposal is signed, we begin the design and production of the kitchen or piece.

02Step 02
Create
Your ideal kitchen or piece of furniture is created by our own master craftsman — a member of the Guild of Master Craftsman — at our woodcraft workshop in Honley, near Holmfirth, in West Yorkshire. Customers are welcome to visit and see their actual piece being built.
We encourage customers to become embedded in the entire production process: from design and dimensions, to selecting the woods and materials, to viewing the production process and finishing. After sourcing the best timbers, Daniel and his experienced team use a mixture of traditional hand tools and the best modern machinery and techniques to ensure each piece leaves the workshop made to the highest standard.
Every element is meticulously handcrafted. Like true craftsmen, wherever possible we keep the manufacturing process in-house to oversee quality control and optimise value.

Finish & Deliver
Master Craftsman Daniel Fitzpatrick personally oversees each step of the creative process from inspiration through to delivery and installation. Every piece leaves the workshop hand-finished and ready to be lived with — built to last, not to fashion.
Our strength comes from versatility. Daniel has over 30 years of experience as a craftsman, woodturner and cabinet maker, and over 25 years in business at Oak & Pine by Design — and his team brings a diverse set of skills to every commission, large or small.
